Discouraging Protest Vote, Sanders Says: 'Elect Clinton-Then Mobilize'

Bernie Sanders is returning to the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton making several appearances at college towns through OH where she appears to be in a dead heat with Donald Trump.

In an interview Friday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe", Sanders acknowledged that he has always been a third party candidate, and had no negative words for Johnson or Stein. "And I would say to those people out there thinking of the protest vote, "Think about what the country looks like, and whether you're comfortable with four years of a Trump presidency". "And the day after, let us mobilize millions of people around the progressive agenda, which, by the way, as you know, was passed in the Democratic platform". So I don't think there's any reason for anyone to believe that Trump is going to stand with working people.

And Sanders will be campaigning for Clinton this weekend in the uber-swing state of Ohio.

He also commented on the "birther" controversy about whether President Barack Obama was born in the U.S. He posted a clip of that discussion on his Twitter account.

Sanders was a total no-show, who spent his time between the conventions and now doing nothing as far as anyone can tell. Others were demonstrating against the Democratic nominee outside the building, and a few even got themselves arrested in protest against Hillary's nomination.

"What media does is focus on Trump's personality, and Clinton's personality, and my personality".

Sanders said that Clinton can connect better with millennial voters by focusing on issues, and he urged voters to do the same.

While Clinton is outperforming Trump among 18- to 35-year-olds, her margins are not almost as strong as those of Barack Obama in past elections, according to the polling news site FiveThirtyEight. In the new Quinnipiac poll, a jarring 77 percent of likely voters aged 18 to 34 said Clinton is not honest, while 21 percent said she is. With polls uncomfortably tight for Mrs. Clinton, she can't get enough help from Democratic stars too soon.

As well as reminding millennial voters in OH of the basics of Ms Clinton's platform, Ms Sanders will also be urging them to register vote before a mid-October deadline.

Viktor Krapivin, a member of Rutgers University Democrats and a School of Arts and Sciences junior, said he was confident that most Rutgers students saw voting for Clinton as the "right way forward". "You go issue by issue and I think you expose him for the fraud that he is".
