Gus Bradley hired as Chargers defensive coordinator

As for the Chargers, it was widely believed that new coach Anthony Lynn wanted Bradley with him wherever he landed, and that's exactly what happened here.

The former Jaguars coach has agreed to be the new defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers, according to ESPN. While things didn't go well in Jacksonville, Bradley is a proven commodity on the defensive side of the ball. Fangio was the defensive coordinator under coach Jim Harbaugh from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, though, Bradley was a highly regarded defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks. Despite winning fewer than 25 percent of his games, he maintained a sterling reputation as a defensive mind - and was arguably the top defensive coordinator candidate available after the Rams hired Wade Phillips. The team is moving from San Diego to Los Angeles next season.

The Chargers confirmed Saturday that Bradley's arrival was imminent.

Several players and others around the league have said they wouldn't be surprised to see Manusky - because of his relationships established since joining the organization last offseason - land the position if Washington failed in its quest for Bradley. He also reached Super Bowl XLIII as the Arizona Cardinals head coach, but lost to Pittsburgh.
