Bulls Fend Off Kings' Comeback, Win 112-107

With 30 games left and the awful Kings hurtling toward the lottery once again, it's not insane to think Cousins could challenge the National Basketball Association record for technical fouls in a season.

While Cousins will now likely sit out against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, the real danger is the threat of continuing suspensions should he be unable to control his emotions. First, the 6-foot-11 big man grabbed Bulls assistant head coach Jim Boylen during an altercation between both teams on the floor at the end of the third quarter. Cousins shoved Boylen's arm away as tempers flared, and all three players were given technicals.

Cousins was slapped with a pair of technical fouls during the Kings' 112-107 home loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. While the Kings did well to get back into this game, he finished with an inefficient 18 points on 16 attempts and allowed the Bulls to pull back in front after that missed free throw in the final minute.

Robin Lopez added 17 points and six rebounds.

It is second straight game he has missed because of the injury, and he is considered questionable for Wednesday's road game against the Golden State Warriors.

The story following the Monday morning shootaround at the Golden1 Center didn't exactly scream that Butler would be available for the game against the Kings.

"Obviously, it was a slow start, a very slow start".

The Bulls' ball movement was crisp early even before taking the 82-55 lead, as they assisted on their first 14 field goals, playing solid defense on the Kings and frustrating the All-Star Cousins, who torched the Bulls for 40 at the United Center. Cousins made a driving layup to tie it. "If we don't put ourselves in that hole, that probably gives us a good shot to win". The two teams will marry up on February 15, the Kings' last game prior to entering the All-Star break. It was the third of a six-game homestand that concludes Sunday against New Orleans.

Ultimately, Cousins will find himself in a tough spot once he gets back from the one-game ban.
