Manifesto revealed: Jakubowski details how government wronged him in document

The Latest: Police study letter threatening Easter attack

A manifesto police believe Joseph Jakubowski wrote before going on the run provides some telling insights into the mind of a Janesville man suspected of stealing weapons and threatening public officials.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office says the letter is being analyzed and "its authenticity is in question".

Police said in a statement on Friday that Jakubowski's manifesto "includes grievances against government and personal angst towards anyone or anything other than natural law or rule". It says Jakubowski is willing to die if it happens through the intervention of the president, and on live television.

The arrest, coupled with little mention of schools in Jakubowski's manifesto, "should give some comfort to our communities and certainly give comfort to our schools because they appear to be two separate incidents that unfortunately happened on the same day", Moore said.

Video recorded shortly before the crime at the gun shop showed Jakubowski dropping the large envelope addressed to the president into a Janesville mailbox.

Local retailers say it's a good idea to have more people looking for him.

"There is no threat.to any type of religion, no specific threat of any location".

"We know Joe had some frustrations, we appreciate that, but this can end without anybody being hurt and with his opinion being heard", he said.

Police have said after Jakubowski burglarized the gun shop, he set his vehicle on fire and vanished.

The Rock County Sheriff's Office said 730 tips have been received as of 8 a.m., and investigators pursued 140 of them. Local, state and federal enforcement agencies are now looking into 140 of these tips.

Jakubowski can also be seen in cell phone video mailing his 161-page manifesto to the president.

But law enforcement has as increased presence with deputies at the Rock County Courthouse as well as at the local college and technical colleges at the request of those institutions, according to Spoden.

Officials say Jakubowski is to be considered armed and risky.

"Direct sightings should be immediately reported to "911" and general tips or historical information should be directed to 1-800-CALLFBI".

A portion of the manifesto was obtained by WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee.

"We are all so grateful to be part of a community that so positively supports law enforcement!" the agencies say in the news release.

The pages are filled margin to margin with anti-government and anti-religion rants.

More information has been released of Jakubowski's manifesto, in which he calls the government a "gang of terrorists" and claims public officials and financial institutions are controlled by religious figures.

He also wrote, "The only way the system will take control of my life.is over my dead body!"

Walker on Tuesday called the disappearance of Joseph Jakubowski a "grave concern".

Joseph Allen Jakubowski, 32, has been the subject of a manhunt since the burglary April 4 at a gun shop near Janesville, a city about 60 miles southwest of Milwaukee. After that, authorities say he set fire to his auto. Investigators have now received 650 leads in the case.
