Vikings 2017 Schedule Release Set for 7 pm (CT) April 20

Patriots CB Malcolm Butler Signs RFA Tender, RB James White To Sign Three-Year Extension

Every season, there are several games on the Patriots' schedule that any National Football League fan can watch and appreciate, and 2017 is no exception.

One of the more curious parts of the Patriots' schedule is the fact that the divisional games are all more or less clustered together late in the year.

Two games will be played Monday, Sept. 11, with the New Orleans Saints playing on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, followed by the relocated Chargers playing at Denver against the Broncos. Both teams will have a bye the week after, which is nice, but the Rams will play a road game at Jacksonville the week before. They'll be at home this time as they try to do better. The schedule release is really not the big deal that we sometimes make it out to be. A mini-bye to start the season, in the middle of the season and the real bye. And yet, nothing really jumps out at me. Once it returns from the bye, New England will play five of its next six games on the road, including a trip to Mexico City on November 19 to play the Oakland Raiders. There is a ton of awkwardness surrounding the team's final two seasons in Oakland as the franchise prepares to leave for Las Vegas. Brady and the Pats travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers and rising star QB Jameis Winston in an unpredictable Thursday night contest that could be a "trap" for New England ...

Looking at last year's TNF schedule, it seems to be that the league attempted to put teams and matchups it expected to be very good near the front-end of the season.
