Microsoft ups it's user account security game and Wunderlist retires

Once we are confident that we have incorporated the best of Wunderlist into To-Do, we will retire Wunderlist. According to the company, the app starts off with a screen called "My Day" that provides a list of items that needs to get done on a particular day.

April 19 saw the release of the public preview of the Microsoft To-Do. Any tasks that you don't get to are hidden away until you hit the lightbulb button for suggestions about things you should get done, which are surfaced based on how important the algorithm thinks they are. As reported by ZDNet, users of To-Do lists can also be personalized and assigned emoji, which can easily tell them apart from the others.

While this is a great system, and I will be using it for my Microsoft account going forward it, does have some drawbacks and does not eliminate the need to use strong, unique passwords for all of your accounts.

So that means if you are subscribed to Office 365 those will be the only accounts that work on To-Do beginning with this preview.

Microsoft is planning to bring more features from Wunderlist to To-Do, including the ability to share lists; a Mac app and tablet apps for iOS and Android are also planned. They introduced Phone sign-in feature in Microsoft Authenticator app. This is a feature which (in tandem with To-Do overall) looks to help the user better manage their daily to-dos.

The upcoming app will also be integrated in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Office 365 as a whole. While the name and icon may change, the team that brought you Wunderlist continues on. Fortunately, though, Microsoft To-Do does come with a straightforward import option, here's how to use it.

To-Do is a list-making app that allows users to create lists for home, work, groceries, and everything in between.

Microsoft To-Do Preview is available to download now for iPhone and Android phones, and from the Windows Store (where it's still referred to by its development codename, Project Cheshire), and the web version is available here.

Sadly then, for those that hedged their bets and became part of the Microsoft ecosystem in hopes that you would welcomed with open arms, it appears as if your bet was misplaced.
