Uber Once Nearly Booted from Apple App Store for iPhone Tracking

Reputable Apple analyst KGI Ming-Chi Kuo has also weighed in today, reporting that mass production of the OLED iPhone will likely be pushed back to October/November, instead of the normal August/September timeframe for new iPhone launches.

Kuo's assessment adds to the mounting evidence of a delayed - or, at least, severely supply constrained - iPhone 8. Constraints in Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) supply chain have also been cited for the delay. He suggests that most people will be willing to wait for it to be available, even if this means holding off their upgrade cycle until early next year. The power button on this dummy iPhone 8 is larger than the current-generation models. It is expected to be the most premium gadget among this year's iPhone releases. As far as the dimensions are concerned, it looks like the iPhone 8 will have the same 7.1mm thickness and physically, it will be more or less similar to the iPhone 7.

Kuo cites supply chain difficulties with several new components - including custom OLED panels, new 3D Touch modules and 3D sensing cameras - as the main cause for the delay.

The iPhone 8 production delay was labeled by Kuo as a "potential downside risk to shipments" of all three iPhone models expected to be released this year. Now, however, a fresh new round of leaks suggest that Apple will not go with a fingerprint scanner on the back, and new renders finally show the iPhone 8 design we're all hoping for. Around the back there's a vertically-aligned dual lens camera but, thankfully, there's no sign of the rumoured rear-facing touch ID sensor.

IMAGES OF AN ALLEGED iPhone 8 dummy unit have appeared online, complete with an edge-to-edge display and 2.5D glass design.

A report on Bloomberg stated that while Apple is testing a revamped iPhone with an all-screen front, curved glad and stainless steel frame, the launch may be delayed due to supple contraints. But many enthusiasts strongly believe that more information about the handset would most likely be unveiled - specifically its release date - in fall of 2017. If Apple isn't beginning mass production on the iPhone 8 until October or November, they'll nearly certainly be hard to come by until early 2018. Apple is expected tp announce the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus in September, alongside the iPhone 8.
