National Football League teams question Darrelle Revis' commitment to the game

New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis walks

Rich Cimini of ESPN.com talked to an National Football League head coach, a team executive, a personnel director and a scout to assess the reason behind Revis' struggle to find a new team.

Revis' career has been highlighted by seven Pro Bowls, four first-team All-Pro selections, a 2009 Defensive Player of the Year award and a Super Bowl ring during his one season with the 2014 Patriots.

Darrelle Revis remains available on the free-agent market after being released by the New York Jets earlier this offseason. The charges included two counts of felony assault, single counts each of robbery and conspiracy, both felonies, and making terroristic threats, a misdemeanor.

NY still owes him $6 million, so he isn't hard up for money.

In February, Revis was arrested when he was said to be involved in a street fight that left two men unconscious.

Now that Revis is clear of any charges off the field and the league has stated he will not face discipline, teams can sign the cornerback with no fear of him missing games due to a suspension. It happened following a verbal and physical altercation with Revis and a friend, but evidence couldn't prove that Revis was the one who knocked out the men. "I wouldn't let him play for me for free".
