PS Plus Free Games for June 2017 Revealed

PS4 Update 470

Although this is no surprise, due to Sony announcing back in March that shipments would end soon, I still can't help but feel some sadness as the PlayStation 3's time comes to an end.

Sony recently released a new System Software Update for the PlayStation 4 that was meant to bring new icons and more stability, however, it appears to have destabilized some PlayStation consoles. It made ideal sense, taking into consideration how the only remaining unit which was still being produced in the Land of the Rising Sun happens to be the Sony PS3 500GB make. But, there's usually at least five or six titles every month, so gamers still need to wait for the complete list of the PlayStation Plus June 2017 lineup, Daily Star reported.

The publisher confirmed that they have sold about 80 million consoles since its launch which is on par with Microsoft's immensely successful Xbox 360 console.

PS3 was launched in November 2006, and brought up a revolution on the console market. PlayStation Turkey has leaked the name of two games which are coming to the PlayStation Plus this June. However, Sony will likely stop supporting the PS3 with game and system updates immediately.

Not a bad slate of free games. Sony hopes to build a better experience of PS Now for PS4 and PC owners by dropping the other platforms.

There have been some suggestions that PlayStation Plus could include PlayStation VR games at some stage in the future. A new find by Gematsu suggests that PlayStation 3 production in Japan has ended. For nearly a year, it sold at a loss amid criticism that Sony had priced it very high.

Meanwhile, there are lots of ranging speculations over Sony's next moves.

The market has had a mixed reaction over Sony's intention to cease production of PS3. It remains to be seen when PS3 shipments will end in the USA or other major gaming markets. Other reports indicate that it will be shipping close to 18 million units of PS4. That said, the PS2 still remains top-selling the PlayStation console with over 155 million units sold.
