Police said they received reports of a vehicle striking pedestrians on London Bridge around 10:08 p.m.
London Ambulance Service says its taken atleast 20 people to hospitals following the incident. Police and the BBC report that two people entered a restaurant at the market, one of the oldest in the United Kingdom, and stabbed at least two people.
British Prime Minister Theresa May says the incidents involving a vehicle and reported stabbings in London "is being treated as a potential act of terrorism".
It's unclear how many injuries and casualties have occurred, or at which locations, although the BBC has reported there are multiple fatalities.
In the incident at Borough Market, a nearby area that houses many food stalls and pubs and is popular with tourists, Metropolitan police said armed officers had been sent to the area after reports of stabbings at a restaurant. Police said they also responded to a stabbing in Vauxhall, two miles south of London Bridge, but that it was unconnected to the attacks.
"The incident at #Vauxhall is a stabbing and is not connect to the incidents at #LondonBridge & #BoroughMarket".
The BBC reports police are searching for three potentially armed suspects.
Prime Minister Theresa May said she was being updated by officials on the "fast-moving" situation, adding: "I can confirm that the bad incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism".
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement advising "any affected U.S. citizens who need assistance to contact the U.S. Embassy in London and follow Department of State guidance".
