Nintendo confirmed during its E3 2017 Spotlight that Metroid Prime 4 is in the works for Nintendo Switch.

Theresa Apolinario, a member of Nintendo's Treehouse Live team, showed off nearly 50 minutes of footage from the game, which is a reimagining of Metroid 2: Return of Samus. Like numerous other announcements during their show, nearly no hard details were shared. Nintendo will share details regarding the functionality at a later time.

The core Pokemon game was announced during the Nintendo Switch E3 2017 Direct conference. Yesterday brought with it the highly anticipated new gameplay trailer for Spider-Man on the PS4, showing off the web-slinger's striking new costume and abilities. Each amiibo will be compatible with both Metroid: Samus Returns which will be released for Nintendo 3DS on September 15. The original Metroid Prime trilogy was developed by Retro Studios, and received high critical acclaim on release.

Additionally, new to Metroid: Samus Returns are enemies that have all new behaviors and attack patterns that fit in line with the new 360 aiming mechanics. Although not much is known about the game yet, the company did release a teaser trailer that shows the game's logo. If music isn't one's beat, then the pair of Samus Returns amiibo should make for nice bonuses to grab alongside the game as well. Will you be picking up a Switch console if you havent already?
