Five Criminals Arrested in Encounter at Dwarka Mor Metro Pillar 768

Delhi Five arrested after shootout with Delhi & Punjab Police in Dwarka

The incident took place after the police team conducted a joint raid at Gudia Properties at Dwarka Mor to arrest the wanted criminals.

The carjackers holed up in a building next to Dwarka Mor Metro Pillar number 768 as soon as the police team intercepted them.

Senior superintendent of police (SAS Nagar, Punjab) Kuldeep Singh Chahal identified the arrested men as Deepak, Tiku, Krishan and two other men who went by the name of Sumit. Police said they had made a Bollywood style escape.

No one was injured while the firing took place, the police said.

As per last reports coming in on the incident, the police recovered a large cache of arms; 12 pistol and 100 bullets.

Umesh, who works for a private firm and lives near the metro station, said he was headed to work when he saw a man in plain clothes sprint with a sophisticated weapon in his hand.

A Delhi Police team joined the Punjab Police personnel in the operation but DCP (south-west) Shibesh Singh said their role was only peripheral. "The man then began firing towards a building".

A shootout erupted at Dwarka Mor metro station earlier today. Further Investigation is going, the official added.
