Thanksgiving night fight shuts down Riverchase Galleria mall 40 minutes early

Footage shows police intervening in the scuffle which had grown by the time they got to the store. You can see the full statement and video below.

Check out this video, shot at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Alabama where shoppers are fighting for bargains. The participants were separated and identified by officers. The fight was not related to post-Thanksgiving sales.

A number of arrests were made after the brawl, though reports did not disclose who was arrested and what charges they might face.

Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba say officers also received calls of gunshots fired outside the mall near the Macy's parking lot, but responding officers believe it was someone shooting off fireworks.

At least 10-15 Hoover police officers responded. No major incidents were reported at the Galleria or any of the city's other shopping facilities.

Black Friday shopping unexpectedly turned violent after incidents including a brawl at an Alabama mall Thursday and a shooting at a Missouri mall Friday.

The melee prompted mall management to close the mall down about a half hour earlier than planned.
