Star Wars hard for Carrie Fisher's family to watch

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is now on theaters. Although Carrie Fisher had finished filming all her scenes for Episode VIII and is peppered generously throughout the film, it's the first franchise installment to be released since the beloved actress tragically passed away last December at the age of 60. However, while many had expected the movie to feature Leia's tragic passing or possible exit storyline, the credits rolled with a very much alive Leia aboard the Falcon and leading her rebellion.

"That was the very first conversation I had with [Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy] after we came back, after New Year's", Johnson told THR. I kind of looked through the footage.

Perhaps the fan that stood out the most was Fisher's dog, Gary, who showed up to pay his final respects to his mom.

Laura Dern appears as Vice-Admiral Holdo, in charge of taking over command when Fisher's character is incapacitated. Given that we have a attractive, complete performance from her that I think audiences deserve to see, and I think it will mean a lot for them, that ray of hope from Leia.

And premiere night wasn't just for the stars of the movie. Now she is General Leia (no longer just a Princess!) who is charged with combating the evil First Order under the command of Supreme Leader Snoke, played by Andy Serkis.

"Carrie and I were attracted to one another, but I knew from previous jobs that it would have been a bad idea (to get involved with someone on set)". I don't know, if I say that I'm doing good, I'm too happy.
