Google says it sold over 6 million Home speakers since mid-October

How Google Home and the Google Assistant helped you get more done in 2017 - Google Blog

From there we'll send you to a page with smart devices, appliances and gadgets that work with an Alexa-enabled smart speaker, or one with Google Assistant baked inside.

Search giant Google today revealed that it sold one Google Home device every second since the launch Google Home Mini on October 19, 2017.

It's pretty easy to guess that the Home Mini was the most popular among the three since it was on sale for $29 throughout the holiday season.

High tech companies are now pouring millions of pounds into developing voice-controlled smart speakers, such as Amazon Echo and Google Home, in the belief that the limited two-way conversations that they can hold will soon become more complex and life-like.

Google in November rolled out an update that will allow you to use Home speakers as intercom systems in your house.

The Assistant is now available on more than 400 million devices, including speakers like Google Home, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, headphones, TVs, watches and more.

Currently, the voice-controlled Google Assistant is now compatible with over 1,500 smart home devices from over 225 different leading brands. Google now has three Home products- Google Home, Google Home Mini, and the Google Home Max. This likely had something to do with why the Echo took so long to gain mass market appeal: While Amazon announced the device in 2014, it took more than two years for people to begin adopting it in earnest.

Despite tasting success in the United States and Western Europe, China will continue to elude the two smart speaker giants, Amazon and Google.

This is the first time, Google is having a major presence on the show floor and most of it seems to be centred on the Assistant.
