Trump denies alleged collusion with Russian Federation

In a separate tweet, Trump accused Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein of being "underhanded and a disgrace" for disclosing details of a dossier of allegations about his ties to Russian Federation during the presidential election campaign. "We need the wall for stopping the drugs from coming in", Trump said when asked if he would sign a bill that didn't include funding for the wall. And, he added, "there is no collusion". And, he said, "it has been determined that there's been no collusion by virtually everybody".

He said he would be "glad to" speak to Mueller about it. "When they have no collusion, and nobody has found any collusion, at any level, it seems unlikely that you'd even have an interview".

CNN reports that Trump used the phrase "no collusion" seven times in a single answer to Fox News chief White House correspondent John Roberts, calling his use of the phrase a "virtually Pavlovian" response to any mention of the Russian Federation probe. Another in May, after Trump fired Comey (in part because of the "Russia thing", he told NBC's Lester Holt).

Trump's frustration was in line with a separate request while meeting with his Cabinet for the first time this year.

Two Trump campaign aides - including campaign manager Paul Manafort - have been indicted in the investigation.

Trump has often invoked Feinstein on the collusion issue.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller continues the investigation into Russia's alleged involvement in the 2016 USA presidential election.

Appearing before Mueller would pose legal and political risks for Trump, who has often claimed that he is not personally under investigation.

A White House spokesman pointed to a statement from White House lawyer Ty Cobb saying the White House doesn't publicly discuss its conversations with Mueller but was continuing to cooperate "in order to facilitate the earliest possible resolution".

Trump has derided the dossier as a politically motivated hit job. Of course, that's different from what Trump argues: He says not only that he is innocent, but that there was no collusion with the Russians by anyone on his team. "So we'll see what happens", Trump added.

Q&A Who is running the Trump-Russia investigations? A Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday found that more than half of Americans think Trump tried to derail or obstruct it. Trump added the issue had featured little in their discussions but he might be willing to reconsider the United States decision to walk away if it can strike a better deal.

Trump, who kicked Wednesday off by railing against the Russian Federation "witch hunt", said during the press conference that the investigation has been a "phony cloud over this administration, over our government".
