Woman crawls into x-ray machine to protect her handbag

Shocking! Chinese woman passenger climbs into X-ray machine to protect handbag at Dongguan station

The woman had happily put her suitcases through the machine before walking through the security checkpoint holding the smaller handbag.

A woman at Dongguan Railway Station in China's southern Guangdong Province seems to have an inextricable relationship with her handbag, as she climbed into an X-ray machine with it during the security scan.

The CCTV footage shows that she placed her purse on the conveyor belt before she climbed on it herself.

However, when the security staff told her that her handbag would also have to be checked, she climbed up the airport-style luggage scanner machine.

She was apparently concerned about leaving her handbag unattended in the scanner, so went in after it, the report said.

Shocked staff did not stop her as she clambered off and went to get her train at Dongguan, China.

It was thought that the woman did not want to leave her handbag and its valuable contents, so she made a decision to climb up the machine.

A video of the whole incident was posted on Facebook by PearVideo.

The powerful X-rays used in the machines are harmful to health. It isn't clear what was inside the woman's bag which she was trying to safeguard with such dedication.

With millions of people on the move across China for the new year, security arrangements can be unforgiving, especially if you are asked to part with your designer handbag for scanning.

Many Chinese migrant workers carry their annual earnings home to family in cash during the Lunar New Year holiday, the busiest travel period of the year.
