In his first season in retirement from full-time racing, Earnhardt's presence is still strong through his race team. Its previous closest finish (0.001) occurred in 1995 during a Truck Series race at Colorado National Speedway.

The end of the Xfinity Series race at Daytona on Saturday seemed interminable.

"This feels absolutely fantastic", said Reddick, who won the 2015 Truck Series opener at Daytona.

The trucks kicked off Daytona 500 weekend Friday night, and we'll get one step closer to the Great American Race with the PowerShares QQQ 300 on Saturday afternoon. "This is a hell of a way to start the year with JR Motorsports". Then, Spencer Gallagher and Ross Chastain got together coming off Turns 1 and 2 to send the season-opener into triple overtime. On the final restart Sadler would get outside of leader Tyler Reddick and the two would cross the finish line mere inches apart, with Sadler coming home second.

Larson led a race-high 61 laps.

Larson captured the first stage of the race with the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver leading 22 of the 30 laps. Chase Elliott and Sadler were served pass-thru penalties by NASCAR on Lap 95 for doing just that.

The 143 total laps was a record for the Xfinity Series. The second overtime attempt resulted in an 18-car wreck that took out top contenders Kyle Larson and Joey Logano among others.

The wreck also took out Christopher Bell.

"We knew coming into Daytona there could be a mishap". "I don't know how many starts I'll have at this race track". Unfortunately, he did not have enough owner points to get into the race.
