'Smallville' actress Kristin Kreuk denies recruiting sex slaves for 'self-help' NXIVM cult

Many DOS slaves were branded on their pelvic areas using a cauterizing pen with a symbol which unbeknownst to them incorporated Raniere’s initials according to past members

Raniere was arrested in Mexico last weekend on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit forced labor. He added Mack and actress Kristin Kreuk, who played Superman's love interest in "Smallville", were used as "poster girls for normalizing the group".

Raniere was arrested in Mexico on March 25 and it has been reported Mack, as part of the cult's leadership, can expect to be arrested soon too. Potentially, Mack faces charges for sex trafficking, said 9 News. It's unclear when he would make his first appearance there. Kreuk got out in 2012, before female members began getting forcibly branded with cauterizing pens.

"Two former stars of the hit television series "#Smallville", are allegedly linked to sex cult leader, Keith Raniere.

Now Mack, best known for playing Chloe Sullivan on the teen drama "Smallville", is in the news for her involvement in NXIVM.

"Over the course of several years, Mr. Raniere mentored Allison in her study of acting and music", her biography section reads.

The website related to the group describes Raniere as a "scientist, mathematician, philosopher, entrepreneur, educator, inventor and author" who has "devoted his life to studying the human psychodynamic and developing new tools for human empowerment, expression and ethics". A spokesperson for Mack could not immediately be reached. Both actresses signed on with the sex cult in upstate NY.

According to People, "DOS" refers to Dominus Obsequious Sororium, a faction within NXIVM made up of women who were brainwashed into sexual slavery by the group's co-founder Keith Raniere. "The accusations that I was in the "inner circle" or recruited women as 'sex slaves" are blatantly false. Sarah Edmondson, a Canadian actress who has spoken openly about her experience trying to leave the cult, supported Kreuk's statement.

"Thank you to all of the courageous women who have come forward to share their stories and expose DOS; I can't imagine how hard this has been for you", Keruk's statement continued.
