Police Report “Active Shooter” At YouTube Headquarters – Update

Police in San Bruno, Calif., say they are responding to an active shooter after reports of gunfire at YouTube headquarters.

San Bruno Police is responding to the active shooter at YouTube headquarters, located in Cherry Ave & Bay Hill Drive. Video of the event was reportedly captured, as police brought people out of YouTube with their hands raised, because they hadn't yet reportedly determined the shooter.

"We are responding to an active shooter".

The YouTube campus has been closed as authorities investigate the shooting that happened on Tuesday, April 3, at approximately 12:52 p.m. local time.

Police say a woman believed to be the hooter at YouTube headquarters is dead of self-inflicted gunshot.

"Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers", YouTube employee Vadim Lavrusik wrote.

"We heard the shots first, and that immediately drew us over to the window to see what the heck's going on, and next thing you know, you see people streaming out just running, dozens of them, just running out the front exit", Tartaglia said. "First thought was quake". "Someone else said that the person shot out the back doors and then shot themselves", Sherman said on Twitter.

Google, the parent company of YouTube, addressed the incident in a statement on its communications account.

Was anyone hurt in the San Bruno shooting?

Cops have advised people to steer clear.

There is no official word on potential injuries at the time of writing, but Stanford hospital is now treating up to 5 patients from the incident, while San Francisco General Hospital also confirmed it is treating patients.

CBS reports that Stanford Health Care is "expecting 4-5 patients from [the YouTube] shooting", according to a hospital official. San Bruno police said they could not provide more information.

San Bruno police warned on Twitter to stay away from the area housing the headquarters of the Google-owned video sharing service near San Francisco.
