Virgie native Josh Osborne is up for songwriting and producing awards at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards. The Best Vocal Group of the Year victor was announced before show time, as was the New Female Vocalist of the Year victor and the New Male Vocalist of the Year recipient. She performed her song "Legends".

The ACMs will air live on CBS. One of her hottest performances of all time was at the 2016 CMA Awards.

As usual, the Female Vocalist of the Year contest is crowded with Sooner State favorites.

It seems Carrie Underwood's face is on the mend five months after suffering from a nasty fall right outside her home. Those up for Song of the Year this year are the songs "Body Like a Back Road", "Female", "Tin Man", and "Whiskey and You". The track's producer, Scott Hendricks, also is an Oklahoma native. "Maren Morris could win this year and that could be a huge upset".

She will be performing her comeback single "Cry Pretty" at the award ceremony as her debut back into the spotlight.

According to CMT.com, ACM Awards published on March 7 that the performers listed are Jason Aldean, Bebe Rexha, Florida Georgia Line, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Kane Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Alan Jackson, Little Big Town, Jon Pardi and many more.
