White House pushes back against reports that Kelly called Trump an 'idiot'

Trump's chief of staff John Kelly disses report he called boss 'an idiot'

The publication presents the testimony of four officials who, according to them, heard Kelly called trump an "idiot" numerous times.

The report also suggested the chief of staff holds that women are generally more emotional than men, and he said so once in the president's presence.

'I spend more time with the President than anyone else and we have an incredibly candid and strong relationship, ' Kelly said in a statement.

Morale has eroded in the West Wing in recent months because of comments by Kelly to "aides that include insulting the president's intelligence and casting himself as the savior of the country", according to NBC via those eight "current and former White House officials".

Many people remember President Donald Trump's doctor who provided a letter detailing the candidate's supposed excellent health ahead of the 2016 election, Dr. Harold Bornstein.

The story cites three White House spokespeople, however, who say that they don't believe the comment was made.

On Monday, NBC News published a story that painted the president and the chief of staff at stark odds with each other, reporting that Kelly frequently casts himself as a figure who is reining in an erratic Commander in Chief.

On Monday, White House chief of staff John Kelly released a statement attacking the mainstream media for their "total BS" report that he supposedly ridiculed President Trump and called him a "moron" during a closed-door meeting.

Kelly was reportedly frustrated by the president's public commitment to pull US troops out of Syria.

A retired Marine general and former secretary of homeland security, Kelly was tasked a year ago with bringing order to the White House as chief of staff.

'The Fake News is going insane making up false stories and using only unnamed sources (who don't exist),' Trump tweeted. Is it possible Kelly has exhausted of Trump's own relentless outbursts and emotional tirades? They are totally unhinged, and the great success of this Administration is making them do and say things that even they can't believe they are saying.

Minutes after NBC Nightly News led its evening broadcast with claims about Kelly, Trump lashed out in a pair of tweets blasting "Fake News". Aides say his direct influence has waned somewhat. Fake News is going "bonkers!"
