Trump treats Kim to a Rocket Man CD amid nuclear talks

US SECRETARY of State Mike Pompeo has touched down in Pyongyang to press Kim Jong-un for a more detailed commitment to denuclearisation - and he has brought with him a weird gift for the North Korean dictator from US President Donald Trump.

Asked if North Korea is trying to hide its nuclear program, Trump said, "We'll see".

Meanwhile, U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton said Sunday that he expects Pompeo to discuss with the North Koreans a plan to dismantle the nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs in a year. Chosun Ilbo reports that during Trump's first meeting with Kim, the North Korean dictator asked about the nickname.

Instead, it seems as though the US needs to get assurances that Kim is still committed to the document he signed in Singapore that calls for the "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" - and to determine what that phrase means to each side.

The U.S. State Department has denied relaxing its definition of what constitutes North Korean denuclearization ahead of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Pyongyang Friday.

While, in the past, the Pentagon has said North Korean officials have indicated they had the remains of as many as 200 US troops, a USA military official familiar with the procedures for handling remains said it was not clear what North Korea might hand over. -South Korea "war games" and Kim saying he would disassemble his test sites, though there's been no sign that he's made any efforts to do so.

Pompeo said he was seeking to "fill in" some details on North Korea's commitments and maintain the momentum towards implementing the agreement from the summit, according to the pool report.

So Trump told Pompeo to bring the CD along with him, according to the paper.

"The more we meet, the deeper our friendship will be, I hope", he said.

The top USA diplomat, who will be staying overnight in the North Korean capital for the first time, said he looked forward to a "very productive" encounter.

"Under the Obama administration they were launching missiles, they were testing", Mr. Trump said. "The more you come, more trust we can build between one another".

Sources close to the Trump administration have said on background that Mr. Pompeo's immediate goal is to try and nail down a date for the coming weeks or months by which the North Korean leader must publicly declare of his nation's nuclear production facilities, weapons and nuclear-capable missiles.
