Police said a bomb-sniffing K9 did alert on the package. A statement on the department's Twitter page said a dog alerted to the package after an employee spotted it. Police say the threat was called in around 4:30 p.m. Charlotte Fire was called to the scene to assist CMPD with the threat. Lieutenant Jeff Gordon with NC Highway Patrol said 46 people were on board the bus when it crashed. The bus struck a median guardrail before sideswiping a concrete bridge column. Police say they also returned fire and are working to determine if the person in the shed is dead or alive.
